Full 5 hour Slow TV version: ruclips.net/video/gvuClu0BRsM/видео.html
This is a timelapse of Austroplebeia closing their hive entrance with resin.
They do this each evening to protect their hive from predators and regulate temperature. With the filming lights shining on them they completed the screen at 9:30pm taking a little over 2 hours. Usually they are finished at 7:30pm.
Filmed with a canon eos-m with magic lantern and a 100mm macro lens on bellows. Custom led ring light. F8 with a focus distance is about 10 inches. ISO 800, shutter 1/90
I am still not sure exactly which species these are. I'm leaning towards Cassiae because of their furry head and the faint mark in the middle of their...

Hated the choppy editing of random things while the spider was eating, and I wish we could have seen how she takes her web down. Oh well. I'll keep looking for it.
Incredible video! And what a treat to get close to such a cryptic species.
Super cool! Ty!
I’ve been doing a lot of hedge work, an enormous spider almost collided with my face in the back corner of my yard 😱 I guess I bothered it too much so now it’s relocated a web attaching to corners of my roof spanning 15’+ across right freakin next to my back door 🤦🏻♀️😂 want to get it to go back in the corner but not sure how to relocate and I’m not getting close enough to catch it, watching this made my heart race lol. Fantastic quality video and audio.. crunch crunch.
Yr heliconia looks so nice … can you share the id
Thx to this video I now know how to feed my redback female. Had no idea thats how their web worked. Thx alot!
Ima whating this vidio 9 years after release Btw love ur vidios so educational and perfect
Very cool! I found one of these and destroyed the web. I had no idea. Beautiful creatures.
It never ceases to amaze and fascinate me the microscopic life that we largely are completely unaware of going on around us.
superb
Muy buenos acercamientos.
Amazing 🤩🤩🤩
They may be deadly but they actually help rid of pests including the deadly brown snake.
Wow so interesting and so less information to find about them , im intrueged . thankyou for the great video
I Really love this video because it was with army ants wow wow wow
Another great video. If you ever get the chance to make another one about microscopic life I'd definetly love it.
This might be the best true widow hunting video to exist. Great work. Curious what equipment you used to get such sharp close-ups?
Very nice
Thanks
Love it and Thank you so Much for Sharing.
Your welcome
That's amazing! Thank you for sharing. Love the lizard too.
No worries. A gecko. There is a pair of them living in the log that snack on the bees.
So, so cool. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
the first video that my science teacher had us watch that I actually enjoyed 😭
Eriophora ravilla/fuliginea ?
Very cool
Thank you sir
Welcome
Do those things know that they are alive ???
Nice presentation.
Beautiful video
I've been there, Marc. You have added so much more!!! Thank you!!! Awesome!!!
Great to hear!
We call them Mimosas in Texas. Beautiful, messy, invasive. But definitely have a nostalgic draw because of how they were planted so frequently in the early 60s-70s. I grew up with them in everyone's yard. Now I'm excited to see one, most have been cut down. It is an acacia
Nice presentation .
So this answered my question what is in my yard. It's an orb weaver
If you shoot a spider with a airsoft bb it literally has a seizure
Imagine a 6ft solid plastic sphere hitting you at an appropriate scaled velocity. I reckon about mach one.
You quite literally Jumpstart
Really good video. I'm searching for red-backs because as I went to dip my hand into my compost bin I saw, my eyes took me to a spider that was the same shape and size as the female red-back but, this one had a distinctive whitish stripe on upper abdomen. I'm curious, was I looking at red-back? I don't think it was the male because of its size.
Thanks. Maybe a cupboard spider?
I think my pal is dead sadly, what do you think sir?
Grato por essa aula de campo de biologia !
my mum has many in her yard
these are sesame flowers
Hi, I have a plant which is indoor one, along with that a small wild plant is growing which has small pods which look like tiny okra. They too explode reddish tiny seeds. I was just wondering if u know about this. I find it very amazing because they explode on my face of I stand near by
